Claims Technician

The Role:

Our highly successful Commercial Major & Complex loss team have a rare opportunity for a talented Claims Technician (Adjusting Executive) based in the North West and Yorkshire region to join us. This technical support role provides colleagues with the opportunity to work in partnership with our Adjusters who manage a caseload of commercial claims of varying value and complexity, providing a superb platform to develop your technical skills whilst delivering service and handling at the very highest level.

The role will primarily involve working on Adjuster led complex and larger losses in excess of £100,000, and may also require the successful candidate to manage a caseload of desktop losses on selected commercial accounts.

You will have/will be:

1. Cert CILA/Cert CII qualification is preferred, but experience within commercial claims handling as a minimum would also be considered.
2. The confidence and ability to deliver excellent customer service throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
3. Have first-class communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Competent IT skills, and the capability to maintain the electronic and paper files to a high auditable standard including preparation of Claim and Adjustment documentation as required.
5. An enthusiasm to liaise with other internal product lines/departments as required.
6. Be able to manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and complete case enquiries as directed by the adjuster, but with the confidence and technical ability to work without direction where appropriate.
7. Understand the importance of ensuring all stakeholders and parties are kept fully updated at all times, and have a pro-active claims handling philosophy.
8. Provide assistance on site on occasion, including minute taking of meetings, preparation of the action plan, taking statements/photographs etc. as directed.
9. Accurate daily time recording delivering a high proportion of chargeable hours demonstrating technical competence.
