Job summary

McLarens is seeking a Claims Technician for our Manchester office. The role focuses on supporting Adjusters, managing claim files from setup to conclusion, and maintaining accurate administrative processes.

The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced office environment, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly. This role supports regional operations and requires attention to data protection and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an insurance or loss adjusting environment is beneficial.
• Experience in a fast-paced office and/or administration environment.
• Ability to learn and adapt to systems effectively and efficiently.
• Organised and able to self-manage workload, with a methodical, accurate and analytical approach.
• Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong relationship management with team, colleagues and 3rd parties.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Thrive in a high-pressured working environment.
• Be driven to meet and exceed targets.
• Flexible with regards to travel which may be required as and when.

Responsibilities

• Administration of new claims including receiving instruction, issuing acknowledgments, setting up files and undertaking risk screening and triaging.
• Working closely with Adjusters to assist with investigation and validation enquiries.
• Controlling the lifecycle of the files to drive diary management and support proactive management of claims from setting up to conclusion.
• Overseeing Adjuster caseloads when necessary during periods of leave.
• Liaising with insured, insurers, brokers and stakeholders to ensure optimum customer service.
• Aiding the production of technical reports for Adjusters in compliance with standards and guidelines.
• Ensuring time reporting and billing is compliant with internal standards and systems.
• Developing and running management information for clients and internal use.
• Ensuring company standards are met in relation to data protection and information security.
