Job summary

CKB Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Claims & Service Adviser for its team in Shoeburyness, Essex. The role is fully office-based with a basic salary of £26,000-£28,000 depending on experience, and potential for a higher salary for a closely relevant insurance background.

You will handle mobile gadget claims, travel insurance queries, and first-line complaints, working across claims and customer service to deliver a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Previous claims or customer service experience within a regulated insurance business is essential.
• You’ll be customer-focused, enthusiastic and keen to develop your insurance knowledge, with the confidence to take responsibility for a varied workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence on the telephone and by email.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A positive, hardworking and self-motivated approach.
• The ability to manage multiple products, tasks and priorities in a busy, evolving environment.
• A proactive mindset and willingness to ask questions and contribute ideas.

Responsibilities

• Handling mobile phone and gadget claims involving loss, theft and accidental damage, including cover provided alongside travel insurance.
• Managing ticket protection claims and refund requests once cross-trained.
• Responding to travel, mobile phone and gadget insurance sales and service enquiries.
• Liaising with underwriters on travel-related product queries.
• Working with repair and fulfilment colleagues to progress and conclude claims.
• Processing premium and excess payments.
• Managing policy cancellations and retention conversations.
• Recording and handling first-line complaints in line with company procedures.
• Working with finance colleagues on payment and reconciliation queries.
• Supporting colleagues across the business and suggesting improvements to processes and customer service.
