Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
Canopius is a global specialty lines (re)insurer and a leading insurer in the Lloyd’s of London market, with offices in the UK, US, Singapore, Australia, and Bermuda.

Canopius seeks an enthusiastic claims professional to enhance our delegated claims administrators (DCAs) performance and ensure contractual obligations are met. The role involves benchmarking DCAs to work with those committed to delivering Canopius’ claims vision and values. It requires collaboration with claims teams worldwide, stakeholders across various business units, and teams including Conduct, Risk, Underwriting, Complaints, Procurement, Legal, and Delegating Authority Management.

We seek a motivated individual with drive and enthusiasm for delivering claims excellence. The position offers diverse tasks within a highly collaborative team committed to our Claims Vision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review DCA performance MI and customer feedback, tracking and resolving findings and actions promptly.
  2. Address gaps in DCA performance MI with stakeholders, implementing plans to mitigate risks.
  3. Identify and escalate material risks causing customer detriment or regulatory/reputation harm.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with claims colleagues and stakeholders to understand risks and challenges.
  5. Onboard new DCAs, ensuring they understand our policies and expectations.
  6. Collaborate with Procurement and Claims Operations on capturing and reporting DCA fees, including developing a fee guide per class and territory.
  7. Drive collaboration on appointing Canopius experts within contractual documents.
  8. Identify claims performance metrics with Product teams to monitor and manage performance.
  9. Develop performance reporting tools to identify top-performing DCAs by class and territory.
  10. Stay informed on market DCA developments and trends.
  11. Manage DCAs in run-off to minimize associated risks.
  12. Contribute to DCA projects and transformational initiatives for meaningful change.
  13. Work with Delegated Authority Management to review and update contracts for regulatory compliance.
  14. Ensure timely execution of DCA audits and address recommendations.
  15. Develop relationships with internal and external market contacts aligned with our claims vision.
  16. Collate and produce claims data for FCA value measures and product reviews.
  17. Provide monthly reports and insights to relevant internal forums and leadership.
  18. Support Operations in addressing internal and external stakeholder queries.
Candidates should have experience with delegated business, either as a claims adjuster or in operations.
