Claims Manager – Life Insurance

Contract : 6 months | Location : Remote | Rate : £350–400 per day

A leading insurance and financial services provider is looking for an experienced Claims Manager to assess and manage underwritten protection claims. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role offering a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to work within a forward-thinking, customer-focused team.

As a Claims Manager , you'll handle complex medical and financial claims with autonomy, contributing to an efficient and fair claims experience for policyholders. The role involves cross-functional collaboration and a chance to shape continuous improvement in claims processes.

Responsibilities

Manage life insurance and protection claims end-to-end within authority limits. Assess claims in line with policy terms and the organisation's claims philosophy. Liaise with doctors, clients, service providers, and intermediaries to gather information and explain decisions. Handle appeals, complaints, and contribute to a customer-centric claims process. Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and client services teams to drive best practices.

About You

3–5 years' experience in life insurance claims, particularly with underwritten protection products. Proven claims authority (ability to assess claims using medical reports and documentation). Strong understanding of income protection, life, and/or critical illness claims. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with sound numeracy and IT proficiency. Experience using workflow and image management systems.
