What Is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a Claims Handler to join our team, specializing in Marine, Cargo, Fine Art, and Species. In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of claims, ensuring efficient and fair resolution while providing excellent service to clients and stakeholders. You will collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and legal experts to assess claims, negotiate settlements, and advise on complex cases.

The ideal candidate will have experience in specialty insurance claims, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle high-value and sensitive claims professionally. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, evolving sector.

Travelers Europe offers flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid model of three days in the office and two days remote, subject to policy changes. This role is eligible for a £1500 new joiner bonus, with additional referral bonuses possible.

What Will You Do?

  • Analyze and apply policy coverage accurately to claims.
  • Investigate assigned claims.
  • Negotiate and settle claims proactively.
  • Reserve claims accurately.
  • Uphold company service standards.
  • Maintain data accuracy.
  • Manage external vendors, ensuring quality and cost standards.
  • Authorize claim payments and reserves within authority.
  • Provide technical advice and build relationships.
  • Support team members and participate in projects.
  • Assist with complex claims as needed.
  • Communicate actions and knowledge openly.
  • Participate in training and development activities.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Technical knowledge to handle claims within authority.
  • Experience in London Market claim handling preferred.
  • Competence in handling claims per standards and practices.
  • Intermediate communication and business skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and exercise sound judgment.
  • Working towards ACII or London Market Insurance certification is preferred.

What is a Must Have?

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience in insurance-related activities (paralegal, operations, broker).
