Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine & Cargo Practice team at Marsh. This role will be based in Norwich. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Marsh's Global Marine & Cargo Practice is a leading broker and adviser to the maritime and logistics industries on risk and insurance issues. Key areas of expertise include; Hull and Machinery, Marine liability, Protection and indemnity & Marine Cargo.

The successful candidate will work in the Marine Cargo Claims team within the Global Marine, Cargo and Logistics Department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to make the move into a specialised and highly interesting claims area, where excellent support and development will be provided.

What can you expect?

  • Negotiate with Insurers to achieve the most beneficial claim outcome for the Client
  • Collate, reviewand interpret claim documentation to negotiate the best claims settlements for Clients
  • Meet agreed standards of accuracy, service, work volumes, and other performance targets in line with bespoke Client SLA’s and BSC targets
  • Handle and case manage claims/recoveries and contribute to the satisfactory resolution of complex and/or contentious issues
  • Manage claims/recoveries for global clients.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, insurers and third parties.
  • Use internal systems to record and update information.
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload in order to meet deadlines and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).

  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and conscientious approach.
  • Solid planning and organisational skills.
  • Quick to take on-board new information which is technical in nature.
  • Analytically minded with the ability to resolve complex queries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiating and Influencing skills.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Able to promote continuous improvement and respond positively to change.
