Overview

Our Gallagher Corporate Claims division is seeking an ambitious and engaging Claims Handler to join our successful team in Llantrisant. Role Summary

As a Claims Handler, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our clients and contributing to the continued success of our division.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical advice to clients throughout the claims process, managing expectations regarding timescales, policy, legal liability, and quantum.
  2. Update all relevant Line of Business systems regularly, ensuring data accuracy.
  3. Support the claims team in administrative tasks related to claims handling.
  4. Manage claims from receipt to conclusion under supervision and within authority levels, including requesting necessary documentation, arranging appointments, liaising with clients, insurers, and third parties, and ensuring proper documentation.
  5. Review and challenge insurer decisions as appropriate, providing technical advice.
  6. Proactively communicate with clients and insurers about the status of claims and payments.
  7. Support customer service initiatives, including attending PRISMs and client meetings, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  8. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts based on customer feedback.
  9. Manage workload efficiently to meet SLAs and ensure client satisfaction.
  10. Maintain accurate claims statistics and handle complaints per procedures.
  11. Develop and maintain technical knowledge relevant to claims handling.
  12. Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and Gallagher standards, emphasizing Treating Customers Fairly and Consumer Duty principles.

Candidate Profile

  1. Previous experience handling Commercial Claims (Property/Liability/Motor).
  2. Cert CII/Dip CII qualification desirable; educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  3. Experience within the insurance industry with a focus on commercial claims.
  4. Strong client service orientation, forward planning, and analytical skills.
  5. Excellent communication skills, task-focused, and career-oriented.
  6. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  7. Proactive, solution-oriented approach with effective problem-solving skills.
  8. Eligible to work in the UK.
