We are looking for a Claims Handler Aviation, based in London.

Your Team

Our team is committed to providing expert claims management, ensuring timely and fair resolutions, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and building strong relationships with clients and brokers to support their needs effectively.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Aviation Claims Team Leader, you will be delivering effective and efficient Claims Handling support. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining peer-level relationships with brokers, collaborating with other functions to ensure accurate claims administration, and completing general claims administration tasks as required.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Handle standard and complex claims on Aviation policies: Airlines, General Aviation and Aerospace
  • Input and maintain accurate claims records (e.g., reserves, payments) for designated accounts
  • Process standard indemnity and expense payments
  • Prepare case for settlement of claims through payment or denial
  • Produce management information reports (e.g., monthly major claims movements)
  • Prepare referral documentation and materials as appropriate
  • Report loss information internally and externally
  • Work with other functional areas in the Claims handling process, such as Underwriting and Operations, as well as with colleagues in our offices abroad

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in dealing with aviation claims
  • Ideally, you have a professional insurance qualification, or are working towards it
  • At ease in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
  • Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management and avoidance techniques
  • Knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Positive team spirit and excellent relational skills
  • A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.
