A leading mutual insurance provider is offering a Claims Apprenticeship in Stratford-upon-Avon. The role involves investigating and processing claims for large corporate clients, with a focus on excellent customer service and gaining hands-on experience. Candidates are expected to have five GCSEs and at least two A Levels, along with strong communication skills. The apprenticeship includes a recognized insurance qualification and a structured development program.
Our Large Corporate Insurance (LCI) Claims department handles complex motor, property and liability claims for NFU Mutual's biggest clients. As a Claims Apprentice, you will support LCI clients by investigating and processing claims, applying sound judgement to help prevent loss and fraud, and delivering excellent customer service. You will be immersed in a variety of placements to build technical knowledge, professional skills, and contribute to team objectives. The apprenticeship includes a recognised insurance qualification (Cert CII) and a structured development programme, with 20% protected study time and strong support from your manager, mentor, and programme lead.
In your first weeks you’ll learn NFU Mutual processes and LCI team ways of working, meet your team leader, and understand the work you’ll be involved with. As your confidence grows, you’ll shadow current team members to gain insight into claims management. You’ll work with a dedicated trainer to develop skills in liaising with customers, using our systems, and achieving key milestones. The Certificate in Insurance will be completed as part of the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship. You will develop regulatory and technical knowledge to contribute to your placement area and gain hands-on experience in assessing and evaluating claims, appointing suppliers and experts where needed, and keeping all relevant parties informed while maintaining high customer service standards.
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Start date: cohort joins on 5 January. The apprenticeship emphasizes curiosity, proactivity, teamwork, and attention to detail.
