We are currently recruiting for a confident and detail-oriented Claims Handler to join the team of one of the UK’s largest businesses, Royal Mail! This is a great opportunity for someone with strong organisational and communication skills who enjoys problem-solving and delivering excellent customer service.

About the Role:

As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer claims from initial notification through to settlement. You will be the key point of contact for customers, ensuring their claims are processed efficiently, fairly, and in line with internal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle and assess incoming claims efficiently and accurately
  • Communicate with customers, third parties, and internal teams via phone and email
  • Review documentation and evidence to determine claim validity
  • Ensure claims are processed in line with company policies and FCA regulations
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all casework
  • Provide clear updates and outcomes to customers in a timely manner
  • Escalate complex cases to senior team members where appropriate
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Previous experience in a claims handling or customer service role (insurance sector experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse information
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • A calm and professional approach, particularly when dealing with sensitive situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using internal systems
Other Information:
  • Hours of work: 35 hours per week, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rate: £12.97 per hour
  • Start date: 16 th June 2025 (there are other intakes, please just ask!)
  • Duration of Assignment: Up to 12 weeks, with potential extension
  • Location: Plymouth, PL9 7HJ
