Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Claims Consultancy Director to establish and lead a new Claims Consultancy service within our construction consultancy business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the establishment and growth of this new service, which will provide claims preparation and rebuttal support to clients across the construction sector. The role involves business development, managing operations, and delivering claims consultancy services. It requires a strategic thinker with a background in construction claims management, leadership skills, and client relationship abilities. The role can be based in London, Glasgow, or Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Develop strategies, identify opportunities, build client relationships, generate leads, and represent the firm at industry events.
  • Business Management: Oversee daily operations, adapt processes, manage finances and contracts, recruit and mentor staff, and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Service Delivery: Provide expert advice, lead claims preparation, analyze claims, negotiate settlements, and stay updated on industry trends.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field.
  • Member of RICS (MRICS or FRICS); other qualifications like LLM, FCIArb are desirable.
  • Extensive experience in construction claims, dispute resolution, and contract management.
  • Proven business development and client management skills.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
