A prominent healthcare provider in Scotland is offering three Senior Clinical Fellow rotational posts to support training in Acute and General Internal Medicine. The roles involve placements in various specialties, including Geriatric and Cardiology, and require full GMC registration. The positions provide hands-on experience within a dynamic training environment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
NHS Grampian is pleased to offer three Senior Clinical Fellow (IMT3/ST3+) rotational posts based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) for a period of 12 months. These posts are designed for doctors who have completed IMT2 or equivalent and are looking to consolidate their experience in Acute and General Internal Medicine.
The rotations will include placements in Acute Medicine and two or more specialties from the following:
- Geriatric Medicine
- Cardiology
- Renal Medicine
- Gastroenterology
- General Internal Medicine
This post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.

There may also be opportunities to gain experience in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) to support IMT3 equivalence.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in ward rounds, acute take, and ambulatory care (RAAC)
- Contribute to the Hospital at Night rota at registrar level
- Supervise junior colleagues and support educational activities
- Engage in quality improvement, audit, and teaching
- Specialty-specific duties (e.g., procedures, clinics, outreach, simulator training)
- Participate in emergency duties and occasional out-of-hours work
