Job description

My client are a West Yorkshire based Design Consultancy with over 30 years' experience as Civil and Structural Engineers. They are a trusted partner to their commercial, industrial and residential clients nationally across the UK and are looking to add a Civils Technician to join a busy team involved with highways and drainage design for clients across Yorkshire and beyond.

Working in support of, and under guidance of, Senior Design staff, you will assist in preparing design specifications for S38 and S278 projects. This will involve assisting in the production of design drawings using AutoCAD (Civils 3D). Predominantly working as civils but some structural drawing experience also required.

Possessing a minimum HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering, you will 2-3 years of experience in highways and drainage design working to UK standards within a UK Consultancy environment You will be confident in working within a team, being able to actively contribute to providing design solutions and also be able to work under minimal supervision and should have a positive outlook on further training and development of your technical skills.

You must be competent at using AutoCAD with experience in Civils 3D software desirable and have some experience of drafting and detailing of highway and external works including S38 and S278. Experience of producing drawings to support S104 and S185 applications is required and any experience of specialist drainage packages (MicroDrainage, Flow) would be an advantage.
