Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in London is seeking a Civils Technician to join its growing team. You will produce high-quality technical drawings and Civil 3D models, supporting drainage and highways design from concept through to construction.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements with exposure to diverse developments across London, and opportunities to work with multidisciplinary teams on sustainable infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Civil Technician or Civil CAD Technician in a consultancy.
• Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing drainage and highways designs using Civil 3D.
• Able to prepare technical drawings for development infrastructure.
• Understand levels, earthworks, utilities coordination and drainage principles.
• Strong attention to detail and drawing coordination.
• Able to work within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Interest in sustainable design and high-quality project delivery.

Civils Technician

Salary: Up to £40,000 (DOE)

An award-winning, employee-owned engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Civils Technician to join its growing London team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected practice known for delivering low-carbon, sustainable developments across some of the UK's most complex urban sites. The team works on a diverse range of commercial developments, office schemes, residential projects, warehouse and logistics facilities, redevelopment schemes, mixed-use developments and major urban regeneration projects. You'll be joining a collaborative civil engineering team that plays a key role in shaping drainage strategies, highways design, public realm improvements, utilities coordination and infrastructure delivery on high-profile developments across London and beyond.

The Role

As a Civils Technician, you'll work closely with engineers, architects and wider design teams to produce high-quality technical drawings and Civil 3D models across a variety of development projects. The role will involve supporting the delivery of drainage and highways designs, external works, level strategies and infrastructure schemes from concept through to construction. You'll be involved in coordinating information across disciplines, preparing detailed technical drawings and assisting engineers in delivering practical, buildable and sustainable solutions. Projects typically span commercial offices, residential developments, private sector schemes, warehouse and industrial facilities, redevelopment projects and wider mixed-use developments, providing excellent variety and technical exposure.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working as a Civil Technician or Civil CAD Technician within a consultancy environment.
• Strong proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing drainage and highways designs using Civil 3D.
• Experience preparing technical drawings for development infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of levels, earthworks, utilities coordination and drainage design principles.
