Job summary

Romans Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking a Civils Project Manager in Newcastle upon Tyne to manage site activities, ensure safety and quality, and deliver projects on time and within budget. You will lead a team of staff and subcontractors and liaise with clients to drive successful outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, CSCS/SMSTS, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to manage complex civil projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification required.
• SMSTS certification.
• CSCS Managers & Professionals Card valid.
• First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site activities with Civils Construction Manager to deliver on time and to budget.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance on site.
• Lead a team of employees and subcontractors to meet client and company objectives.
• Provide stakeholder management and act as client liaison.
• Communicate issues and feedback clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Check and sign off weekly site returns for compliance.
• Provide labour resources within tender allowances to meet programme targets.
• Coordinate procurement timing to align deliveries with the schedule.
• Monitor quality and report any deficiencies prior to payment.
• Track progress against the contract programme and flag delays.
• Collaborate with Construction Manager, Ops Support and Design teams to obtain required drawings and information.
• Record verbal site instructions and ensure documentation is submitted on time.
• Summarise progress at site meetings and support monthly cost/value reconciliations.
• Prepare snagging and defect lists and ensure timely resolution.
