Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their major projects team at Devonport Dockyard. Responsibilities include financial forecasting, cost reporting, and contractual management to support the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance program. The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience and strong IT skills, especially in Excel.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with NEC or IChemE Contracts.
  • Possess confident IT skills, especially in MS Office.
  • Hold a full valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly cost/value reports and reviewing results.
  • Maximising cash flow and ensuring timely payments to subcontractors.

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth.

Location:

Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

Contract:

Full Time, Permanent

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our major projects Devonport team, supporting the redevelopment of 10 docks at Devonport Dockyard, supporting the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance programme.

Your day-to-day will include:

  1. Providing commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Helping ensure the business targets and KPIs are exceeded.
  2. Preparing monthly cost/value reports and commercial reports for the area, reviewing results and considering trends with other contract team members.
  3. Physically measuring works and agreeing measurements with the client and sub-contractors.
  4. Agreeing on certification and payment of sub-contractor accounts against forecasts.
  5. Maximising cash flow, including ensuring payments are received on time.
What we are looking for

This role of Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor is ideal if you:

  1. Are educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in a similar role.
  2. Have experience working with NEC or IChemE Contracts and with Coins/Causeway/Oracle accounting systems.
  3. Possess confident IT skills, especially in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  4. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Hold a full valid driving licence.
