Job summary

S1jobs is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their civil engineering team in the Central Belt, covering water projects across the Central Belt and nearby regions. The role combines office work with site visits, typically overseeing 2-3 projects valued up to £1m+ while remaining close to home each night.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering civil projects, with strong client liaison, commercial sense and the ambition to progress within the business.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design and pre-construction through to delivery and handover.
• Take overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality and delivery.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Coordinate with clients, designers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Manage programmes, resources and delivery requirements.
• Monitor project performance and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Attend sites to oversee progress and address project requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are completed to required standards, timescales and budgets.

Job description

A well-established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Project Manager to join their team in the Central Belt, working across a strong pipeline of Water projects throughout the Central Belt and surrounding regions.

The Role

The role will be predominantly office-based, with frequent visits to site. Projects are generally located across the Central Belt extending towards the Scottish Borders, with the role allowing you to be home every night.

You will typically oversee 2-3 projects simultaneously, with values of up to approximately £1m+.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Managing projects from design and pre-construction through to delivery and handover
• Taking overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality and delivery
• Managing multiple projects concurrently
• Coordinating with clients, designers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Managing programmes, resources and delivery requirements
• Monitoring project performance and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
• Attending sites as required to oversee progress and address project requirements
• Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensuring projects are completed to the required standards, timescales and budgets

About You

The company is looking for a proactive and commercially aware Project Manager with previous experience delivering civil engineering projects, ideally within the Water environment.

The key requirement is someone with solid project delivery experience who is ambitious, capable and keen to progress their career.

Ideally, You Will Have

• Previous Project Management experience within civil engineering
• Experience working within the Water industry
• A good understanding of project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and client management skills
• Good commercial and contractual awareness
• The ability to manage programmes, resources and project teams effectively
• A proactive approach with the ambition to progress within the business

Package

• Up to £70k, plus company vehicle and package - dependent on experience
