The Civils Operative will be required to perform excavations, repairs and re-reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers and street cabinets, and the installation of draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway and customers' premises. All work must be carried out using up-to-date client standard operating procedures and in full compliance with current legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities and duties

• Drive and operate a 7.5t Tipper (where required).
• Provide new installation of duct, chambers, and cabinets, and associated customer connections.
• Clear blockages in the highway and reinstate to industry standards, ensuring all information and photos are captured on company assets (phone or tablet).
• Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws, Wacker plates, trench compactors, jackhammers, and hold the correct certification. Competency with a mini digger is advantageous.
• Install new draw rope to customer's connection point following duct and box installation.
• Complete all necessary paperwork for daily work, including job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets, and van sheets.
• Have experience in risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong focus on health and safety.
• Be responsible for company assets and plant assigned to you.
• Treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.

Requirements

• Hold a 7.5t Tipper license (where required).
• Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry is advantageous.
• Proven skills in street works and industry-recognized qualifications.
• Hold a full UK driver’s license.
• Qualifications: NRSWA, CSCS or equivalent, CPCS.
• Good physical health.
