Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civils and groundworks contractor. You will manage commercial aspects from procurement through final accounts on varied civils projects.

The role requires strong contract knowledge, excellent negotiation and budgeting skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects to strict deadlines. Salary ranges £60,000–£75,000 DOE, permanent, start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils and/or groundworks.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
• Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and applications.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Procure subcontractors and materials.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify and manage variations and additional works.
• Prepare and agree final accounts.
• Monitor project performance against budget.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
• Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing where required.
