Civils Construction Manager (Heat Networks)

Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s growth strategy? We’re seeking an experienced and driven Civils Construction Manager to oversee all civil aspects of District Heating Network (DHN) installation projects across the Southwest region.

Your responsibilities will include planning work zones in line with project programmes, ensuring all works are carried out safely and to high standards, checking and maintaining temporary works, and managing civil subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage all civil aspects of the contract(s) with the support of Contracts Managers, M&E Construction Managers, Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Planning Managers.
2. Attend pre-contract and site meetings, providing feedback and progress reports to the management team.
3. Maintain construction programmes and oversee procurement of civil sub-contractors.
4. Review systems and methods to improve civils performance.
5. Address and resolve civils issues during construction.
6. Communicate effectively with subcontractors and stakeholders.
7. Coordinate work of different trades and subcontractors for smooth project execution.
8. Promote and adhere to company policies on equality and health & safety.
9. Engage in performance reviews and personal development planning.
10. Supervise, train, organize, and evaluate staff work.

The Person

Ideally with experience in gas, water, drainage, trench works, and civil construction management.

Qualifications include:

• Level 6 NVQ in Construction Site Management
• Level 6 Apprenticeship in Construction Site Management
• HNC or HND in Construction or related disciplines

Knowledge & Experience

• Strong understanding of current internet technologies.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with deep excavations, trench works, and temporary works management.
