Job description

RSR are currently recruiting for a Civilian Investigator to work on a full-time, long-term contract in Brixton, London. The role is initially for a 12 month period, with a view to be extended.

The role is paying £20.98p per hour (PAYE). The role will be situated within a Police Force, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking written statements and video recorded evidence from victims and witnesses of crime, this will involve gathering relevant information by interviewing the person.
  • Reviewing CCTV & conducting suitable enquires as directed, including house to house.
  • Ensuring vulnerability is identified in persons involved in investigations and ensure the appropriate support is provided, including regular updates as to the ongoing progression of investigation.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including Children and Adult's Social Care, health and education, as appropriate.
  • Assisting in the gathering of evidence by reviewing and collating documentary evidence relating to the investigation, including third party material.
Essential Criteria:
  • PIP2 accreditation is essential, however, an investigative background, including experience of compiling files (preferably of an investigative nature) and previous experience in dealing with people (in particular statement taking and in victim interviewing techniques) is essential.
  • Knowledge of criminal law and Police procedures.
  • The ability to communicate effectively (commensurate with the grade and requirements of the post) with managers, members of staff (at all levels) and members of the public.
  • Motivated and disciplined style working on own initiative to complete the task and as part of a team to achieve overall objectives.
