Job summary

LANXESS UK is seeking an Utilities & Infrastructure Engineer to ensure safe, reliable maintenance of all site utility systems and critical infrastructure at a COMAH facility in Manchester. You will lead asset integrity, governance and lifecycle management while ensuring compliance with COMAH and environmental standards.

The role covers contractor management, risk assessment, LEV and hazardous materials oversight, and technical leadership for utility reliability and civil/utility projects within

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge of industry engineering standards.
• Communication, teamwork and management skills.
• Computerised maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Day to day support for operations on site.
• Civil engineering compliance with local and corporate requirements (inspections, documentation).
• Management of civils, utility and other relevant contractor activities and contractor compliance.
• Civil annual maintenance and project budget planning.
• Project management and engineering of civil and utility site projects.
• HAZOP preparation and delivery of action close-out.
• Management of LEV, cooling systems, asbestos and legionella.

About the role

As part of the engineering team the Utilities & Infrastructure Engineer is responsible to ensure the safe, reliable and compliant maintenance of all site utility systems and critical infrastructures supporting an Upper Tier COMAH chemical manufacturing facility.

The Utilities & Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the asset integrity, engineering governance, statutory compliance and lifecycle management of utility generation and distribution systems, site civil assets and infrastructure. The role provides technical leadership for utility reliability, infrastructure risk management, contractor management and compliance with COMAH, environmental and engineering standards.
