Civil / Structural Engineer (Marine, Bridges & Heavy Civils)

This highly respected firm has an excellent reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across the UK and Ireland, with expertise in marine, bridge, and heavy civil engineering projects.

The Ideal Person
  • Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Relevant design experience in marine, bridges, or heavy civils projects.

  • Strong technical understanding of British and European Standards.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Motivated, client-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel and work on short-term project assignments when required.

Responsibilities

As a Civil / Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Undertake design of marine structures, bridges, and associated infrastructure.

  • Prepare technical specifications, feasibility studies, and inspection reports.

  • Produce Bills of Quantities and support contract administration.

  • Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients and contractors.

  • Supervise technicians and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.

  • Contribute to health & safety documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Special Requirements
  • Be prepared to travel away from home on short-duration appointments.

  • Willingness to work unsociable hours as project requirements dictate.
