Nuclear Civil Engineer - Finite Element Analyst

Our UK-based Civil and Structural Engineering team is seeking candidates with advanced structural analysis skills. If you're looking to boost your career and work on high-profile projects like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, we invite you to join us.

KEY INFORMATION:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Civil Work
  • Structural Calculations - Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, SAP2000, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of seismic, impacts, blast, and other factors
Location:

Bristol - UK

Job Description:

You will work on the technical design, analysis, and implementation of civil engineering solutions for nuclear projects. You will provide specialised technical expertise and guidance within the Nuclear Engineering department, ensuring all projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards in the UK.

  • Perform structural calculations and Finite Element modelling using ANSYS APDL or similar software, ensuring compliance with Eurocode and ETC-C standards.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for reinforced concrete structures.
  • Conduct advanced analysis on RC structures and seismic, impacts, blast scenarios.
  • Collaborate with drafting, BIM, and technical teams to coordinate design requirements.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Communicate effectively and provide technical mentorship to staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Software and Tools:
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software like ANSYS, SAP2000, or similar
  • Familiarity with Finite Element software such as ANSYS APDL, Robot
  • Experience with 3D BIM modelling (TEKLA, Navisworks) is advantageous
