Job summary

Advance Grid Solutions Ltd is looking for a Civil CAD Technician to join their engineering design team in Scotland. The role involves producing accurate drawings for BESS, substations, and energy infrastructure projects, collaborating with a team of design professionals.

You will be responsible for creating general arrangements and site layouts, as well as concrete, RC, and steelwork drawings. Ideal candidates have 2-6 years of experience in a civil/CAD role with strong AutoCAD skills, and BIM knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years' experience in a civil / CAD role.
• Ability to turn sketches and mark‑ups into accurate drawings.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare general arrangements & site layouts.
• Produce concrete, RC & steelwork drawings.
• Create buildable drawings from mark‑ups and survey data.
• Support temporary works and conduct site visits as necessary.

Advance Grid Solutions is expanding its engineering design team and we’re looking for a Civil CAD Technician to support delivery across BESS, substation and energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• General arrangements & site layouts
• Concrete, RC & steelwork drawings
• Working from mark‑ups and survey data to produce buildable drawings
• Support temporary works (haul roads, working platforms, access) and opportunities for site visits

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–6 years’ experience in a civil / CAD role
• Strong AutoCAD skills (Civil 3D beneficial)
• BIM knowledge (advantageous)
• Experience across infrastructure, energy or civil projects
• Ability to turn sketches and mark‑ups into accurate drawings
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment

Working Environment

You’ll be working within a close‑knit team alongside a Chartered Civil Engineer and other design professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of renewable energy projects.
