Job summary

Search Consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil Site Supervisor for a major civil project in Newton Abbot. You will manage daily site operations, coordinate sub-contractors, and enforce strict safety and quality standards to keep programmes on track.

The role requires SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS supervisory/manager card, and First Aid at Work. Strong communication, leadership, and IT reporting skills are essential for success on site.

Qualifications

• Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certification required.
• Valid CSCS Gold Supervisory or Black Manager Card.
• First Aid at Work certificate required.
• Proven track record supervising civil engineering works.
• Strong IT literacy for site reporting.

Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Managing daily site operations, directing groundworks/civils gangs, plant operators, and sub-contractors to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Health & Safety Management: Delivering daily tool box talks, site inductions, enforcing RAMS compliance, and conducting ongoing hazard and risk assessments.
• Work Progress & Logistics: Monitoring daily output against project schedules, coordinating material deliveries, plant allocations, and managing site access.
• Quality Assurance: Inspecting ongoing works-including drainage, foundations, deep excavations, and surface finishes-to ensure adherence to drawings and specs.
• Client & Management Reporting: Updating site diaries, logging shift records, and reporting on progress or technical issues.
