Requirement: Civil Resident Engineer

Location: Wales & South West England

Salary: £65,000 + Vehicle + Bens

This role will be within our clients Electricity Transmission team in Wales and South West England.

Our client design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

Duties

We re looking for a Civil Resident Setting Out Engineer (R.E.) to join our clients Electrical Transmission team. You ll help deliver key substation projects across the UK, working with big names like National Grid and SSE.

Day-to-day, you ll support the Civil Site Manager, making sure everything on site runs smoothly, safely, and on time. You ll be hands-on with planning, design, and construction, helping keep things on track and up to standard. Role responsibilities:

Set out civil works: RC foundations, drainage, ducting, earthworks, roads, fencing

Support site and project managers in meeting key design and build milestones

Review and advise on Temporary Works; assist TWC/TWS throughout project lifecycle

Prepare handover documents, H&S files, and inspection plans

Resolve on-site design issues and manage change control (TQs/RFIs)

Coordinate as-built drawings and ensure timely client submission

Attend design/coordination meetings and support tender planning

Experience & Qualifications

3+ years experience in surveying/setting out

Civil Engineering degree or equivalent

Experience in electrical transmission/distribution preferred

Licence required

Familiar with NG Transmission Procedures and BS5975 Temporary Works

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Confident with Microsoft Office, databases, and CAD

Good understanding of technical specifications and supplier requirements
