Job Title: Project Civil Engineer (Design)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Civil Engineer (Design) to join their expanding in-house engineering design consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team on a variety of projects across the water, heavy industrial, power, and design & build sectors. Based in Bridgend, South Wales, this role will report to a Senior Project Engineer and be responsible for the technical delivery of small projects or a section of a larger project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical:
2. Apply sound engineering principles to enable the use of new and advancing technologies.
3. Prepare outline and detailed designs in line with relevant standards.
4. Develop clear and well-structured design calculations, reports, and drawings.
5. Utilise BIM-led design approaches and structural design software (STAAD Pro, FEM Analysis, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis).
6. Project Management:
7. Plan and implement projects effectively.
8. Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines.
9. Ensure all work complies with internal quality standards, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation.
10. People:
11. Lead and develop engineering teams to meet technical and managerial goals.
12. Identify team skill gaps and provide mentoring where required.
13. Coordinate project delivery to ensure technical accuracy and timely completion.
14. Stakeholder Management:
15. Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and the supply chain to achieve project objectives.
16. Build and maintain excellent customer relationships.

What Our Client is Looking For:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.
• Strong people management and motivation skills.
• Knowledge and experience of Eurocodes, UK Industry Codes of Practice.
• Willingness to travel to other UK offices and client sites when required.
• UK/EEC driving licence.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.
• Strong technical design experience in multi-disciplinary projects.
