CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT
WARRINGTON
What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Project Engineer to join Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will be based in or around Warrington and will have opportunities to travel across multiple sites and projects in the region.

As a Civil Project Engineer, you will:

  1. Manage and deliver projects within the Water Industry from inception to construction completion.
  2. Conduct site investigations and surveys to inform design and construction.
  3. Manage stakeholders and third parties to ensure smooth project progression.
  4. Obtain permits and approvals to commence construction, ensuring safety and compliance.
  5. Uphold a culture of health and safety, adhering to CDM regulations.
  6. Liaise with multidisciplinary designers internally and externally for seamless project integration.
  7. Work with delivery teams on pre-construction design and buildability reviews.
  8. Produce construction documentation to support project success.
  9. Engage with clients throughout project delivery, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  10. Manage subcontractors during investigation and construction phases.
  11. Utilize Common Data Environments (CDE) for process streamlining and compliance.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development aligned with company initiatives.
  13. Understand NEC contractual requirements.
  14. Participate in progress and Cost to Complete meetings to enhance project efficiency.
About You:

We’re seeking candidates with:

  • Experience in full or partial project delivery, ideally in the water sector.
  • Civil qualifications such as City & Guilds certifications.
  • Experience with industrial installations.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • HNC/D or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
  • Understanding of current legislation, QA, and H&S protocols.
  • Strong teamwork, diversity appreciation, and support for team objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills for constructive dialogue.
  • Ability to provide sensitive and constructive feedback.
  • Effective prioritization skills and willingness to seek assistance.
  • Target-driven attitude for personal development.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt approaches.
  • Focus during demanding periods and adaptability to business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
