About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality, and on-time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Jacobs are seeking Civil Engineers - Various levels who can provide technical expertise to support the technical design and delivery of construction deliverables for the buildings of Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C Projects. The successful role holder will have a working knowledge of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Civil engineering design office experience
  • Manage the interface with the civil designers, providing them all the necessary inputs at the right time, following their progress and making sure the design is delivered on time
  • Contribute to a correct design configuration management: preparation of design changes and participation at design change committees
  • Support handover of Design Packages released for construction and initiate the delegated responsibilities through this process
  • Contribute to CDM reviews, create and maintain the Design Risk Register

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering subject, civil or structural Engineering
  • Working towards / Chartered Engineer with either ICE or IStructE
  • Design process and design activities
  • Working knowledge of design codes (e.g., Eurocode 2)
  • Design with hazard & accidental safety cases
  • Working within UK CDM regulations and in a highly regulated industry
  • Delivery-oriented and ability to set action plans and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
