Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure Ltd. offers a Year in Industry placement for aspiring civil engineers. Over 10–12 months, you’ll gain hands-on experience on road and rail projects, work with seasoned professionals, and develop essential skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.

The role may lead to sponsorship and a Graduate Scheme. You'll collaborate with engineers, commercial teams, and stakeholders, supporting planning, cost control, and delivery while contributing to community engagement

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil or Structural Engineering degree (or related discipline).
• Proactive, adaptable, and keen interest in construction or engineering.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with focus on health, safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project planning and cost control activities.
• Record-keeping and method statements support on live projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, commercial teams and stakeholders; learn from senior staff.

Location: We have opportunities across England and will always aim to place you on a project or framework as close to your home location as possible. However, due to the nature of our work, this cannot always be guaranteed. Candidates must be willing to travel and, where required, stay away from home for short periods to support project and business needs. Flexibility is essential, as suitable projects may not always be available within commuting distance of your home.

What We're Looking For:

• You're pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A full UK driving licence and a desire to work towards professional qualifications.
