Vacancy Description

Initially, the successful candidate will train and become competent in drawing and modelling the civil engineering designs using a variety of software packages, whilst completing the college course one day a week. The role will be office-based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, working with a team of engineers and CAD technicians with the opportunity to do occasional site visits to support our clients.

Following successful completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship and obtaining the EngTech qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers, the candidate can choose to specialise in CAD drawings/modelling or, if the business need supports it, can progress onto a degree level course and potentially progress through to chartered civil engineer.

Daily duties:

  • Prepare documentation including but not limited to drawings, models, estimates, schedules, quantities as directed by a Project Engineer
  • Prepare drawings and models in accordance with the company’s BIM manual
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders as directed by a Project Engineer
  • Participate in site surveys and investigations as required
  • Co-ordinate with other BIM technicians/designers in the regional offices and between Groups
  • Undertake a relevant apprenticeship qualification as agreed
  • Check drawings including reinforced concrete schedules
