Overview

Role Overview

As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will provide technical support in the planning, design, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in civil engineering looking to apply their technical knowledge on-site and in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of technical drawings, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects
  • Support Project Engineer in daily operations
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with specifications, drawings, and safety regulations
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, technical reports, and site records
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and quality control checks
  • Assist in procurement of materials and managing on-site inventory
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance across all project stages
  • Attend progress meetings and prepare regular project status reports
Requirements

Essential:

  • HNC/HND or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction processes, and materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid UK driving licence or willingness to travel between sites

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other civil engineering design software
  • CSCS card or equivalent safety certification
  • Previous site experience (placement, internship, or work experience)
