Civil Engineering Buyer / Construction Buyer

Up to £55,000 + package

Privately owned civil engineering business

Healthy turnover and order book

Multi million civil engineering projects

Responsibilities:

Manage all company materials procurement balancing cost, quality, and availability to ensure the best solution

Concrete, Aggregates, drainage, re-bar, blocks, brickwork, manholes, consumables

Manage, maintain and improve supply chain relationships

Be a central point of contact for manufacturing and suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance, quality and cost

Mitigate supply chain risk through identification, evaluation and selection of suppliers whilst identifying and managing risks and opportunities.

Working with the commercial manager and construction site teams daily

Experience:

Proven experience as a Buyer within the construction sector.

Knowledge of materials such as concrete, aggregates, re-bar, muck away, etc

Excellent negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
