Who are we?

Here within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, we are seeking a Civil Engineer to support Water Non-Infrastructure (WNI) projects.

What will you be doing as our Civil Engineer in WNI?

You will develop civil designs aligned with our investment goals, focusing on water assets within treatment works or storage sites. Under the guidance of the Technical Manager, you'll contribute to a range of projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Produce civil designs, calculations, and specifications for water-sector assets, including pipes made of ductile iron, steel, and plastic.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are timely, within budget, and meet standards, liaising with stakeholders such as Operations, contractors, and suppliers.
• Promote health and safety in design by hazard elimination and risk reduction, complying with CDM procedures.
• Manage projects from feasibility through detailed design to construction.
• Conduct site visits for asset condition assessment, feasibility studies, and survey data collection.
• Support updates and expansion of Standard Products used in designs.
• Identify opportunities to meet digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.

Skills, experience, and behaviors:

You should hold a BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status. You should have experience with structural calculations for concrete structures, civil design in the water industry, and proficiency with engineering software. Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes, and the ability to interpret ground investigation reports, are essential.

You must be adept at communication, report writing, and data analysis, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders and proposing improvements.
