Civil Engineer

Would you like to work for a company that cares for and invests in its staff's development, with a focus on training and career progression? My client, based near the Peak District, is currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer and a Principal Engineer to join their expanding practice in Derby.

My client is a busy Civil, Structural, Highway, and Transportation Engineering Consultancy with offices across the Midlands. The role involves working on a variety of projects in domestic, industrial, commercial, and conservation sectors.

The ideal candidate should be working towards their CEng and be familiar with Micro drainage, AutoCAD (including Civils' 3D), and have good knowledge of Site 3D and PDS, though training will be provided for candidates with less experience.

Essential skills include detailed analysis and modeling of drainage, 3D highway design and alignment, including horizontal and vertical alignment details. Knowledge of Council design standards is advantageous.

Desirable skills include concept design, drainage design standards, SuDS, commercial awareness, client-facing experience, and mentoring junior staff.

The role requires meticulous project management, prioritization, excellent time management, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Teamwork and networking skills are also important.

Core design areas include drainage networking, highway design, FRA's, transport assessments, and knowledge of Section 38, 278, 184, 185, 104, 106, as well as cut and fill analysis.
