Job description

My client, a large, forward-thinking Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Civil Engineer to join their experienced team of design engineers, based in the historical, culturally-diverse city of Leicester.

Essential Criteria:

* Demonstrable experience in the Civil Engineering sector, particularly in a consulting role

* An appropriate academic qualification in Civil Engineering

* Experience of liaising with a range of clients, across the public and private sectors

* Knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements and their applications

* Good working knowledge of a range of software packages, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and others

It would also benefit applicants for the role of Civil Engineer to possess the following skills:

- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team

- Excellent time management

- A willingness to engage with a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience

In the varied role of Civil Engineer, you will join a dedicated team of experts in the field, with a view to developing your career and progress through the ranks. The role will involve a number of exciting responsibilities, including:

* Contributing to a range of design projects at all stages of the process, from initial inception through to delivery

* Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, drawing upon commercial and technical experience

* Assisting with the production of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies

* Producing conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques), as well as adoptable roads and highways

* Submitting a number of calculations, drawings, and reports to senior colleagues for review

* Presenting clients with practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
