Mayer Brown is a leading Consultancy Firm specializing in Transport Planning, Infrastructure Design, and Environmental Assessment in the UK. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects efficiently through expertise, attention to detail, and strategic partnerships.

We offer a career development opportunity in highway and drainage infrastructure. Currently, we are seeking to employ a Civil Engineering Apprentice within our Infrastructure Design Team. This role involves working towards a Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (BEng Hons) at the University of Portsmouth.

As an apprentice, you will collaborate with peers and experienced staff, gaining practical experience while studying for a Level 6 Civil Engineering qualification.

Your Day-to-day Work Will Include
  • Using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD
  • Developing technical highway and drainage designs for planning applications and detailed design stages
  • Assisting in preparing technical reports, including Flood Risk Assessments, Sustainable Drainage, and Foul Water Technical Notes
  • Conducting technical assessments for new developments
  • Liaising with third parties and Statutory Undertakers to support projects
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, design guides, and regulations
  • Supporting the team to deliver projects on time and within budget

You will spend one day a week at university and four days in the workplace, receiving on-the-job training and support from a friendly team eager to involve you from day one.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, including a one-hour lunch break.
