Main Duties:
Conduct pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolve planning conditions, including drainage feasibility and highway considerations.
Perform flood risk assessments, with flood modelling undertaken by the in-house team.
Produce detailed drawings and calculations for technical approval of adoptable highways and drainage systems, in compliance with relevant regulations.
Prepare 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, and other related tasks.
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and assist in assessing variations of cost and timescales.
Represent the company at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees, and public inquiries when required. Undertake site inspections as needed.
Contribute to project management and control for suitable projects.
Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.
Education & Experience:
Relevant experience and a degree in a ‘built environment’ discipline, with progress towards membership in the Institution of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body.
Applicants with an HND/C or significant relevant experience are also welcomed.
Technical Skills:
Experience with Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), SuDS, and Pre-Planning Advice.
Working knowledge of drainage and highway design, including S38, S278, and S104 agreements.
Experience with building regulations for designing building drainage, SuDS, private external works, and ground levels.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Autodesk Civil 3D is essential.
Experience with software like MicroDrainage WinDES, FLOW, Tuflow (optional), and HECRAS (optional).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, such as Excel and Word.
