Job summary

Cala Consulting is recruiting a Civil Engineer in Lisburn on behalf of its client, a respected civil and structural engineering consultancy. The role targets engineers with 3+ years’ experience working toward Chartered status, to contribute from concept through completion on diverse projects.

Ideal candidates will have AutoCAD proficiency, strong technical skills, and a drive for practical, cost-effective engineering solutions across sports facilities, hospitals, schools, housing, and water

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Approximately 24 years experience within a civil engineering consultancy or similar design environment.
• Experience contributing to civil engineering projects through the design and construction stages.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Strong communication, organisation and design coordination skills.
• A commitment to progressing towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design for a varied portfolio of development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare designs for drainage, roads, external works, utilities and associated site infrastructure, where relevant.
• Produce technical calculations, reports, drawings, specifications and other design documentation.
• Coordinate design information with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other members of the project team.
• Liaise directly with clients, statutory authorities and external stakeholders.
• Attend site visits, inspections and project meetings.
• Assist with resolving technical issues during the design and construction stages.
• Support the delivery of projects in line with agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.
• Manage elements of smaller projects, with support from senior engineers.
• Continue professional development and work towards Chartered Engineer status.

About the Role

Cala Consulting is recruiting a Civil Engineer on behalf of its client, an established and respected civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Lisburn.The consultancy delivers a diverse range of projects including sports facilities, hospitals, schools, residential developments (including social housing), and water infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with 3+ years' experience who is working towards Chartered status and is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.The successful candidate will be involved in projects from initial concept through to completion, working closely with experienced engineers to deliver practical, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions for a broad range of clients.
