Job description

This role is with a client who provides a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Their diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools, and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects to multi-million-pound schemes.

Responsibilities and duties

Working within a civils team of Senior Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians, the role is varied and includes, but is not limited to:

1. Design development: Support the design of civil engineering schemes from initial concept to detailed design, including roads, drainage, earthworks, and other infrastructure elements. Ensure designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and meet client requirements.
2. Technical analysis: Undertake detailed design, prepare calculations and reports, and conduct assessments in accordance with relevant codes and standards. Use appropriate software to create design models, drawings, and documentation.
3. Project management support: Assist in managing the technical aspects of a project, liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, and ensuring designs are delivered on time and within budget.
4. Quality assurance: Produce clear, well-presented designs, drawings, reports, specifications, and other engineering documentation, proactively ensuring they meet internal quality standards and industry regulations.
