Job description

Base Location:

For this role, we require successful applicants to be based in one of our Scottish locations – Glasgow, Perth, Inverness, or Aberdeen.

Salary:

£50,100 - £75,100 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

As part of SSEN Transmissions Offshore Portfolio of works, we have an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our newly formed Offshore AC Project Engineering team to help drive our Island projects and successfully deliver a network for Net Zero. These projects facilitate connection to our HVDC systems and include state-of-the-art AC plant, grid control, and stabilization technology in challenging environmental conditions.

You will:

1. Take responsibility for Civil Engineering delivery on assigned transmission projects with typical capital values between £100M and £1B.
2. Promote and manage safety within assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and safety in design, fulfilling the role of Designer or Principal Designer under CDM.
3. Define scope and manage budgets for embedded engineering consultants and project-driven engineering consultancy services.
4. Provide technical input for your specialist discipline and coordinate with other teams to ensure project success.
