The Glasgow Multi-Disciplinary team works on several notable large scale MoD projects, offering an opportunity for a wide range of experience. Current projects include New Build Nursery, Aircraft Hangar works, MTFI New Builds, Aircraft Fire Trainer New Build, as well as smaller scale Single Living Accommodation refurbishments.

We regularly work within a multidisciplinary team and encourage using the latest industry technologies, combined with internal Technical Quality processes, to deliver high-quality designs for our clients.

We have an excellent job opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our expanding Multi-Disciplinary Design Team, in Glasgow.

The team provides civil & structural design services to various clients primarily within the MoD environment throughout the UK and abroad.

The successful candidate will join a team with extensive experience, from our Director to our most recently chartered Engineers. We provide structured training and excellent support, access to our international knowledge-sharing network, and procedures to support your continuing professional development and career progression within AECOM.

What you’ll do?
  1. Has good working technical experience of producing design drawing packages and specifications where required.
  2. Significant knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD to aid production of design information.
  3. Desirable to have experience of Autodesk Revit.
  4. Works well as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team which includes Architects, M&E Engineers, and Building Surveyors.
  5. Experience of Civil/Structural projects which include roads, drainage, general infrastructure with structures experience desirable.
  6. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined survey procedures i.e., carrying out dimensional surveys, experience of reviewing CCTV surveys, and use of survey outputs to produce necessary design information.
  7. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
  8. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  9. Provides guidance to entry-level engineers and technicians.
  10. Proficiency with TEDDS and Microdrainage or equivalent calculation suites is desirable.
Qualifications
  1. Ideally candidate will have 3-5 years minimum post-graduate experience.
  2. Full Driving License.
  3. BEng, BSc Civil Engineering or similar.
  4. Design office experience.
  5. Proficient in CAD and Civil 3D essential.
  6. Proficient in all standard MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc).
  7. Ideally with some Structural Design/Draughting experience (steel, RC).
  8. Experience of Tekla TEDDS or equal design suite is desirable.
  9. Desirable experience of Micro Drainage or equal design suite.
Additional Information

Must have been BPSS / Security Cleared - Or have been in the UK for a minimum of 5 years to enable obtaining necessary Security clearances.
