Civil Engineer - Permanent – Kent - UK - £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join the team in Kent.

The key responsibilities will include (but are not exhaustive to):

  • You will work on a broad range of civil engineering and structural assets, from landside assets such as bridges and roadways, to marine assets such as piers, quays, and breakwaters.
  • Reviewing designs and specifications to ensure they are aligned to statutory and best practice approaches.
  • You will oversee a programme of condition inspections, reporting on inspection findings.
  • Work towards the Port’s sustainability agenda.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency.
  • You will prepare designs, work packages, specifications, and drawings, for work to be carried out by contract, whether new construction, planned maintenance, or reactive maintenance.

The successful candidate should possess a BEng/MEng in a relevant engineering discipline and have 3+ years of post-graduate experience.

A design consultancy background would be advantageous.

You will need to have an understanding of current design codes and CDM regulations.

You will be able to use AutoCAD and have great communication skills, both written and verbal.

You must hold a UK driver's licence.
