Job summary

Alfred Recruitment are partnered with a talented team of consulting engineers and are expanding their Birmingham office, seeking a Civil Engineer to join the team. You will work on a range of projects and contribute to major schemes worldwide.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience, with exposure to highway and drainage design, and enjoy clear career progression through a growing practice offering a competitive salary and company bonus.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in civil engineering.
• Experience leading project teams and liaising with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering designs for residential, commercial, medical, educational projects.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for major schemes.
• Produce technical reports and manage project requirements and programme.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders; attend meetings and site visits.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality, safety and environmental processes.

Alfred Recruitment are partnered with a talented team of consulting engineers, who are now looking to expand their Birmingham office and bring on a new Civil Engineer.

This role is particularly exciting thanks to the ambition of this client, they have grown from strength to strength over the past 5 years, doubling in size, opening several new offices and hiring new teams and directors in the process.

Birmingham is one of their newer offices and as such are looking for an ambitious Civil Engineer who can grow and develop along with the team. As such there is a great deal of potential for career progression available in this team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Work with a talented team to produce a range of engineering solutions
• Helping lead on major projects across residential, commercial, medical, educational and more
• Prepare designs & calculations, drawings and documentation major schemes around the world
• Producing technical reports in line with the project requirements and program
• Project Management activities from Liaising with clients and various stakeholders within the project lifecycle, attending project meetings, attending site visits and inspections
• Assisting in the management & mentorship of junior engineers as they gain experience
• Ensuring quality, safety and environment processes are carried out

What are we looking for?

• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience
• Team leadership and project management is necessary
• Candidates should have experience in preliminary and detailed highway design (S38 & S278)
• Candidates should also have experience in both strategic and detailed drainage design (S104 & S98)
• A strong understanding of Flood Risk Analysis process
• Experience within flow control, SUDS, foul pumping would be beneficialA passion for civil engineering with an enthusiastic and motived outlook
