Job summary

A public housing authority in Belfast is seeking a Civil Engineer to support senior engineers in delivering engineering consultancy services. The role involves structural inspections, design assessments, and preparing AutoCad drawings. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. This permanent position offers a salary between £36,124 and £41,511 and regular Monday to Friday work hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering plus 3 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or equivalent plus 5 years relevant experience.

Job description

To be part of a team delivering ‘best in class’ service for our customers, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Senior Civil Engineer within the Contract & Performance team in delivering a civil / structural / construction engineering consultancy service to all parts of the organisation at locations across Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • To work independently to carry out structural inspections of properties including non-traditional construction and to prepare reports, provide advice and guidance on existing condition and requirements.
  • To prepare and or assess designs for foundations including ground beams.
  • To prepare and or assess designs for steel and RC beams.
  • To prepare drawings in AutoCad format.
  • To assess risks including knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the CDM Regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering plus 3 years relevant experience OR
  • A relevant BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or qualification of an equivalent academic level plus 5 years’ relevant experience.
