Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to contribute to projects in Power and Energy as well as highways. The role involves technical design, project management, and team leadership for both onshore and offshore renewable energy schemes. Candidates should have a degree in Civil Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience, and be nearing chartership with ICE or IHE. Proficiency in relevant design software and knowledge of UK standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ postgraduate experience.
  • Knowledge of DMRB, highway standards, and MCDHW.
  • Near or recent chartership with ICE or IHE.

Responsibilities

  • Work on various projects in the Power & Energy and Highways sector.

  • Liaise with local authorities and Trunk Road Operators.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work on various schemes within the Power & Energy and Highways sector. Projects include onshore and offshore wind farms, grid connection infrastructure, and highway improvements supporting renewable energy infrastructure. The role involves technical design, multidisciplinary management, and project management, suitable for those nearing chartership with ICE or IHE.

  • Minimum three years’ postgraduate experience
  • Knowledge of DMRB, highway standards, and MCDHW
  • Experience in highway/road drainage and alignment design
  • Ability to manage junior team members
  • Experience designing SUDS compliant with UK standards
  • Hydraulic modelling experience of surface water networks
  • Experience liaising with local authorities and Trunk Road Operators
  • Proficiency in Civils 3D, CAD, MicroDrainage
  • Experience in design/project management
  • Knowledge of SEPA, CAR regulations, licensing
  • Near or recent chartership with ICE or IHE

Qualifications:

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or related field
