Job Summary

The successful candidate will be working on a variety of schemes within the Power & Energy and Highways sector. Power projects include onshore wind farms, offshore wind farms, grid connection infrastructure, public road improvements, and other highways elements which enable infrastructure delivery for renewable energy projects. This role offers opportunities to engage in technical design, multidisciplinary design management, and project management. It is ideal for those approaching chartered professional review or recently chartered with ICE or IHE.

  • At least three years’ postgraduate experience
  • Working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), council highways standards, and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
  • Experience in highway/road drainage design
  • Experience in highway/road alignment and earthworks design
  • Ability to work within a team, managing junior team members
  • Experience designing SUDS (soakaways, swales, attenuation ponds) per UK SUDS Manual
  • Experience in hydraulic modelling of surface water drainage networks and storage solutions
  • Experience interfacing with local councils or Trunk Road Operators for design acceptance
  • Proficiency in Civils 3D, CAD, & MicroDrainage
  • Experience in design or project management
  • Knowledge of SEPA guidelines, CAR regulations & licensing
  • Approaching or recently achieved chartered status with ICE or IHE

Qualifications:

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or similar
