Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Exeter is seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in highways, drainage and development infrastructure design to join the Exeter office on a hybrid-working arrangement.

You will work on a range of residential, commercial and public sector projects across the UK, focusing on high-quality, sustainable development solutions and progressing through varied schemes with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil infrastructure design.
• UK development infrastructure projects experience.
• Good working knowledge of relevant design standards and approval processes.
• Experience using software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow and PDS.
• Experience contributing to designs for residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design and delivery of highways and drainage infrastructure for development schemes.
• Producing highway designs (S38 / S278) at preliminary and detailed design stages.
• Supporting the delivery of drainage designs (S104 / S98) including surface water drainage, foul drainage, SuDS design, flow control and attenuation/balancing solutions, and foul pumping stations.
• Assisting with earthworks and site level design.
• Working closely with planners, architects, external consultants, and approving authorities.
• Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design and approvals.
• Producing technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation.
• Collaborating with senior engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality project delivery.
